Blue Tansy Facial Oil - Peggy Sue

8/15/2021

Blue Tansy Facial Oil from Peggy Sue  is at the top of my favourite organic beauty products.   The colour, the feel, the beautiful scent.   It feels like I'm placing a magical forest elixir on my face made by pixies and elves.

This blue tansy oil has now replaced the retinol I was using every night recently.    It is much kinder to my skin and I feel it has made my skin feel even more plump and soft than the retinol cream I was using.

The magical natural scent smells like a misty forest with mysterious flowers starting to open up and reveal their scent and beauty secrets.

It makes me feel like I'm doing something amazing for myself and my skin, rather than how I feel when I'm using products which aren't natural.

Picture
I love the stunning blue colour of this oil, I place a few drops onto the palm of my hand and smooth it onto my face, neck and decolletage.

It melts into my skin without feeling too greasy and leaves my skin looking dewy and fresh.    It contains the perfect amount of natural oils for my oily/combination skin.

The aromatherpy properties help me to relax at night and get me into a calm state of mind.

Picture
This is a very unique product, as it contains so many beautiful organic herbal ingredients which you won't commonly find elsewhere.

The main ingredients is blue tansy, combined with milk thistle and jojoba oil.

Blue tansy oil comes from the blue tansy flower, which is part of the chamomile family, it is also known as morrocan chamomile.    This is explains why the scent makes me feel so calm.

It is also full of anti-oxidants and is anti-inflamatory, which is great for sensitive skin and acne prone skin, it reduces redness and helps to calm skin down, this has a beautiful effect on my skin after being in the sun too much.

Jojoba oil is my all time favourite for natural skin care products. It mimics the sebum naturally produced by skin and balances moisture levels.    It's also an oil which will keep for a very long time as it has a very long  shelf life.

Milk thistle, when applied topically has comparable skin benefits to applying vitamin C and E.  It is full of antioxidants and is the perfect choice to be combined with blue tansy.

This serum also contains a stunning array or fruit oils including watermelon, blueberry and acai!

I love this oil so much, it appeals to the mystic in me with it's mysterious blue colour and scent of the forest.

It makes my skin feel like it's being nourished by nutrients it was missing before.

Suitable for all skin types and be found at Peggy Sue, an ethical Australian brand run by women who  know the importance of self care.

Scandinavian BIOLABS - Hair growth routine for women

9/15/2020

Scandinavian Biolabs innovative plant based hair growth products use 100 percent natural ingredients to help hair growth and prevent hair loss, naturally. They work with leading experts in the field to ensure the effectiveness and safety of each and every product.    Their natural formulas are produced in their own lab in Denmark.    I really love how they have combined nature with science.

There is one major sign of looking attractive and healthy and that is having beautiful, shiny hair.    As we age, our hair can start to become less thick and become brittle. Even in women, it may start to thin out and we wonder what happened to our once lustrous mane of hair.    But, there is something we can do about it.    Bioscandinavian labs have developed their naturally formulated products to help hair grow back to it's shining glory.  There are many organic or natural shampoos out there, but this is the first natual shampoo which has literally helped to grow my hair, using clinically proven ingredients.
Picture
This hair loss may even happen in our 20's, with a condition known as Alopecia, which can be caused be a hormonal imbalance, vitamin deficiency, exposure to toxins or even when under severe stress.    It can be devastating when this happens, as you feel a loss of control, especially if you don't understand why this is happening and have no idea what you can do about it.    These innovative hair care products  can help to give you back the confidence you may have lost through hair loss.
Picture

Scandinavian Biolabs have created a 3 step system to help you recover your hair to it's healthy and natural state -

Step 1 - Strength Shampoo

This shampoo contains some amazing natural ingredients, one of my favourites being Niacimide(B3), which, from experience, has helped me to get my hair back thick and shiny.    I actually take B3 internally as a vitamin, so am very happy to find it in a hair growth shampoo, as I know this ingredient really works to help thicken and grow hair (it's also amazing for skin repair).

Amaranthus Caudatus Seed Extract is a seed extract of the amaranthus plant.  It's an ancient plant known as  “the golden grain”.    It contains a high amount of peptides and helps to repair damaged hair.   It is also rich in fatty acids and squalene which makes it a great mousturizer emollient.

Also containing the wonderful Aloe, did you know aloe also helps hair loss by repairing damaged cells in the scalp?  This also helps boost hair growth and improves the health of hair follicles.   Aloe is an amazing plant.
This shampoo moisturises and prevents dandruff.

Step 2 - Recovery Conditioner

A great conditioner which helps to detangle and protect hair without leaving it feeling greasy and heavy.
Helps to heal damaged hair, in turn helping to prevent split ends and dry hair.

It contains a nourishing amino acid called Alanine which neutralises static electric  and helps to control hair frizz.  I'm someone who sometimes suffers from 'static hair' and this helps alot. Also contains histidine and phenylalanine which help sustain hair elasticity. Alanine also aids in preventing hair loss.

The basic amino acids enhance hair strength and shine, while neutral amino acids implement hair smoothness and silkiness.

Also contains aloe, amino acid blend, cucuma and hydrolyzed quinoa.

Step 3 - Growth serum

This serum contains some amazing ingredients, one which stands out is Zinc PCA, which strengthens the roots of hair which in turn helps to prevent hair loss.   This also helps to control oily hair and dandruff.

Also contains an ingredient called Vanillyl Butyl Ether (HotFlux®).  This delivers nutrients and hormones to the root of the hair.    This ingredient helps with hair loss and also promotes hair growth at the same.

Also contains the active ingredients Aloe, Amino acid blend, curcuma and Niacinamide.

These products also contain caffeine which is one of the best ingredients to help with hair loss.  Caffeine helps promote hair growth straight from the roots.   It targets a hormone called DHT, which is a cause of hair loss.  Caffeine is one of the main ingredients you want in your hair growth products.

✓ Reduces Hair Loss and Stimulates Growth
✓ Cleanses while Protecting and Nurturing Hair & Scalp
✓ Perfect Conditions for Sustainable Hair Growth
✓ All-Natural and 100% Vegan
✓ Preserves Natural Oils
✗ No Sulfate | No Silicone | No Paraben

I have been using this hair care system for a few months now I feel that my hair has become alot more thick and definitely less brittle.     I have had no bad side effects.   I love the natural clean scent of each product.
Each ingredient has been scientifically proven to be successful and through my own research I can tell that this company is the real deal.

Available at - Scandinavian Biolabs

There is also a great range for men too.

Peggy Sue BODY + BATH OIL -organic

8/10/2020

Peggy Sue are an ethical Australian organic beauty brand, run by Alysha and Shanah, based on the South Coast of New South Wales.  Two women who are passionate about helping others through self care.   They know how important it is, especially during hard times, to have a safe, nourishing and beautiful skin care routine.    Who doesn't love a bath filled with luxurious oils and flowers!

Peggy Sue Body and Bath oil is a luxurious organic oil infused with delicate gomphrena globosa flowers and some of my favourite natural anti-aging ingredients.

Admittedly I first wanted this oil when I laid my eyes on the stunningly beautiful glass bottle filled with pretty flowers,  the nourishing oil my dry skin was craving was an added plus!

Picture
I usually look for products which contain jojoba or coconut oil, as these are two of my favourite ingredients for helping my skin stay soft and moisturised.

When I first started using organic products, jojoba was the oil I turned to first, I have to say, it's still my number one.

Jojoba is the closest thing we can get to our skin, it actually isn't an oil, it's a wax ester, which means it's not heavy and greasy like some other oils.   It comes from a nut-like seed of the jojoba plant.    Wax ester is a component of our own sebum, the oil our skin naturally produces, so this makes jojoba an excellent oil to balance our skin.

Coconut oil is another long term favourite of mine, the reason coconut oil is great is it can penetrate all layers of your skin, it absorbs really well and also doesn't leave skin feeling oily.  Coconut oil boosts collagen production, so it helps to strengthen underlying tissues and prevent wrinkles.  I used to buy the big tubs of it and smother myself in it!, but the quality wasn't great compared to the high quality organic coconut oil in Peggy Sue's bath and body oil.   It's an all together different pampering experience, day spa quality!

Grapefruit oil is the other main ingredient, which I am quite new to, but I love it.  It's high in Vitamins A and  C, which are two of the best vitamins in helping keep skin youthful and supple.     Rather than turning to harmful retinol A creams and synthetic vitamin C lotions, this is by far the better option and one which I will be using.

This is such a lovely lightweight oil, good for all skin types, I have combination skin, slightly oily and dry.  This really is the perfect body oil.  It's wonderful and soothing for sensitive skin and itchy legs, I use it all over.  Wonderful on the decollatage area too.   The oil has a delicate soft vanilla scent.

Picture
This oil has helped me rediscover how relaxing it feels to have a bath again, espceially one filled with amazing oils and delicate flowers.   I hope you can rediscover this too, it's so important to pamper and take care of yourself using top quality organic ingredients.

No parabens, sulphates, synthetics, palm oil or artificials.

The bottles are made of printed glass which can be recycled, this also means no printed stickers, what a great idea for sustainability!

I also find the entire Peggy Sue range to be very affordable for such high quality organic products.

Available at - Peggy Sue - helping you to feel beautiful while preserving the beauty in the world around you.

If you're looking for class, style and a bit of rebel, combined with sustainability, you'll fall in love with this stunning line of watches.

The unique craftsmanship in Nordgreen's watches are world class, this is by far the most beautiful and comfortable watch I have worn.

The watch I chose for myself is from the Native collection, a sophisticated and subtle design in Rose Gold, with a stainless steel mesh band and black dial.

It also comes in silver and  gun metal and a choice of gold, blue or white dial colours.

As we are becoming more aware of the dangers of always having our smartphones and wifi close by to us to rely on the time, this is the perfect chance to rediscover the many benefits of wearing beautiful sustainable watches, which are better for our health and the environment.

Nordgreen have a large variety of different watches for men, women, boys and girls, ranging from Italian leather, vegan leather, stainless steel mesh, nylon and rubber.    (The rubber straps would be great for those working out and heading to the gym every day).

The straps are also interchangable, so you can change bands for every mood and occasion.    All watches are water resistant.

Nordgreen recently won the prestigious 2020 Red Dot Award for the design of their top-selling Pioneer Chronograph watch.

ESK - Evidence Based Skin Care - anti-aging kit - review

5/2/2020

ESK is an Australian cosmeceutical brand created by Dr. Ginni, a very well known and respected doctor in Australia.  Together with her husband and a team of doctors, dermatologists and scientists, she created the ESK range with the aim of producing amazing skin care products which are evidence based, ethical and easy to use.

This appealed to me greatly as I think it's not only important to use natural skin care, but to also combine it with thorough research and science to back it up.

I have been using the ESK normal skin anti-aging kit every day for the past few months and I’m very confidant in saying that their skin care is one of the very best I have used.

The results on my skin are evidence enough. I have received compliments on my skin and people have asked me how I’m turning back the clock. This is the only change I have made, so it really is called evidence based skin care for a reason.

I particularly noticed a major improvement in my under eye area, the dark circles and puffiness disappeared.
I developed a smoother and overall even and vibrant complexion.  My cheeks and the lines around my mouth also felt more plumped up and tightened.

Before and after photo -
Picture

I originally did a review for the ESK Ultimate A moisturiser and was so was impressed with the effects of it's hero ingredient, retinal, a Vitamin A derivative, that I was more than happy to test out one of their full kits.

When ESK suggested the following kit for me after filling out their online questionnaire, I couldn't wait to see what the results would be on my skin.   I loved the convenience of this as it’s always hard to know which products are best for my skin, it takes lot of experimenting and spending alot of money on products which might not be the best for my type of skin and they end up sitting on the bathroom shelves for years.
All you do is fill out the questions on their skin survey and they will get back to you with an email.  It also saves money on having expensive skin care consultations in a salon and for those times when it’s hard for us to leave the house.

There are 5 bottles in a kit which come in a high quality white zipped bag which you’ll be able to re-use as a make-up bag :)
Picture
1- Hydroxy cleanser

A beautiful fresh cleanser containing hydroxy acids which removes dead skin and promotes new skin cell growth.    Also contains cucumber, aloe, lavender and rose.   I love the subtle clean scent of the flowers and herbs.   I struggle finding a good cleanser,  some are just too harsh or don’t do enough or have an over powering scent.   This is perfect for my skin and I can’t imagine not using it!

It has a light foaming action and is soap free.    It leaves my skin feeling very fresh and smooth.

2 - Reverse C serum

Vitamin C is one of the major game changers when it comes to  skin vibrancy and anti-aging.    But you also need to use the right type of Vitamin C.    The vitamin C contained in this serum is L-ascorbic Acid, which is the most pure form of Vitamin C.    It's an anti-oxidant which helps to repair damaged and aged skin and helps to protect skin from sun damage.

This serum also contains vitamin E in it's most potent form (tocopherol). This vitamin is also a powerful antioxidant which fights off free radicals and helps to strengthen, moisturise and heal skin.

I like to think of this as a wonderful protection and healing serum for my skin.

3 - Zinc shade

This zinc oxide moisturiser is perfect for my skin.    It's light enough to wear under make-up every day and works fantastic as a primer.  It has been very effective in protecting my skin from the harsh Australian sun.    As I am a bit of a sun lover, I do like to get my vitamin D, but I don't want wrinkles!   This provides against UVA (aging) and UVB (burning) rays.   It's sps 15 + and provides against the harshest sun of the day.

Also contains the calming jojoba seed oil, lavender oil and rose oil.

4 - Smooth Serum

An Alpha Hydroxy Acid exfoliating serum for use at night. This potent serum renews the skin by promoting skin cell turnover. The result is a more balanced and smoother skin tone. It removes dead skin, revealing a brighter layer of skin.   Helps increase collagen production leaving skin feeling more fresh and plump.

Serums deposit highly concentrated forms of active nutrients which absorb into the deeper layers of skin.
This keeps skin hydrated without feeling oily and really seems to be able to smooth out wrinkles.

Contaning witch hazel, lavender oil, rose damascene, backhousia citriorda oil and hydroxy acids.

5 - Ultimate A

My favourite night cream of all time,  the two powerhouse ingredients in this turn this into a super wrinkle smoother.

The amazing night cream contains vitamin A (Retinal) and B3 (Niacinamide).  These two ingredients would have to be two of the most effective anti ageing ingredients.    I've been reading a lot about Niacinamide lately and this is the ingredient you want to be using on your skin.    There has been a lot of research into this and it I can say myself that it does help to improve elasticity of skin, it helps with collagen and this in return helps to smooth out fine lines, even helping my under eye area look less puffy.

The retinal contained in this cream is the most superior form of Retinol you can use, being the closest to prescription retinoic acid, but natural and without the extreme harsh side effects from chemical based retinal.

I can highly recommend ESK products with confidence, their products are high quality, effective and safe for all skin types.   They do result in a smoother, younger looking complexion, even helping 'cheek wrinkles', which seem to be a hard to thing to eliminate unless people turn to fillers or botox, which is something you really want to avoid.

Kits are available from ESK for all skin types including acne prone, normal, mature, sensitive, pigmented and expected mums.

ESK - Evidence skincare

1/18/2020

Picture
ESK is an Australian made range of powerhouse natural skincare products designed to repair and protect skin from our harsh environment and the anti-ageing process.  Using evidence based knowledge, they have created an extremely high quality line based on integrity and evidence.

The main ingredient is Vitamin A in the form of retinal,  which is superior to retinol and retinoic acid.

This form of retinal still has the amazing collagen boosting and skin repairing ingredients as retinoids, but without any of the harsh side effects.

If this sounds bit confusing this is basically how it works -

Retinal Palmitate > Retinol > Retinal (Retinaldehyde) > Retinoic Acid

Sometimes known as retinaldehyde, retinal is the third stage in the retinoic acid conversion process and performs closest to prescription retinoic acid at combating the physical signs of ageing.

We all want our collagen to stay at optimum levels, as this means fewer lines and wrinkles without having to turn to cosmetic surgery as we age. (Because who likes injections)!

Retinal has been clinically proven to be the superior cosmeceutical retinoid when compared to retinol and retinyl esters; and was even concluded in one study to be equally as effective as prescription retinoic acid at reversing the effects of photoageing.

I remember years ago using the prescription retinoid, which worked to clear my acne scars, but left my skin bright red and flaky.     I have also tried retinols which can be found in over the counter skin care and they just can't compare to the benefits I've found in using retinal based moisturisers from ESK.
For the past month I have been using Ultimate A and Ultimate A + which both contain Vitamin A (Retinal) and B3 (Niacinamide) .    Both are night creams, but I also used them every morning.  B3 is another extremely important ingredient to have in your skincare as it contains keratin, which helps to improve your skins texture and retain moisture.   When skin lacks keratin it becomes dull and sagging, this is where B3 can come in to save the day and your skin.

These products came at a great time for me as I had a very bad case of sunburn on my neck and decollatage
( just
from a few hours in the pool)!   I used these products day and night and they quickly helped my skin to recover from redness and dryness, as well as helping to repair any sun damage. This shows how gentle it is on damaged skin, at the same time giving it the collagen boost it needed and rapidly repairing my skin within one week.

The texture is smooth, with a great light-medium consistency, leaving a great base for make-up.

I love the idea of using these vitamins to work their magic on my skin.  I take many vitamins daily, but using vitamins A and B topically is a double bonus for anti-ageing skincare.

This is an amazing range which is suitable for all skin types, those affected by acne and rosacea should give this a go instead of turning to harsher alternatives.   This is definitely a product I will keep in my skincare regime.

Available at ESK.

How to glow all year long

5/1/2019

As the months get colder, the leaves change and slowly our tan fades. Due to the constant salt from the ocean, we spend most of our summer days make-up free. Leaving our freshly tanned skin glowing and moisturised, creating a bronzed goddess look with ease. When getting ready you put on a tinted moisturiser and mascara and your ready to go for the night!

Soon our bronzed skin is a distant memory, but what if we could look like this all year round? Follow these 5 tips to continue to look glowing all year long.
Prep The Skin

The concept of primer has only developed in recent years, but we have found that it can be detrimental to your final make up look and is a staple for your makeup bag.

The primer creates an extra layer between the makeup and your skin, making it even out your skin tone and smooth the surface helping your makeup look to last all night long and sit nicely on the skin. It can also act as a moisturiser stopping your makeup from coming off and protecting it from drying out your skin!

Primers are created to target specific concerns, whether that be pore-minimising or hydration! Putting this on before your foundation helps your skin look naturally flawless, and gives you that dewy summer glow.

Find a foundation that works for you.

A major mistake commonly made when choosing foundation, is that you choose something that is not targeted to your skin type. One of the most important things is that you are using a foundation that is complementary to what your skin needs.

Whether that’s using a liquid foundation with an oily base for dry skin, or an oil-free foundation if you need to control your midday shiny t-zone. It is important that we make these considerations when choosing our base to make sure that our final look is natural and without imperfections.

Ignoring your skin type could leave your skin feeling dry and cracking or a sweating oily mess, meaning that you can definitely kiss that bronzed goddess goodbye.

Natural Oils

Oils, Oils, Oils! It is important that we are constantly keeping our skin hydrated in our everyday skin care routine.

A simple and easy way to do this is using natural oils!. This could be applied before bedtime to allow your skin to soak in it as you sleep. Oils as simple as rosehip, avocado or even argan oil can be put on your skin overnight to help you get that dewy summery look.

More complex serums and oils can also be used to keep your skin moisturised and hydrated, to visibly calm redness and irritation in the skin.

Either way, you’ll wake up the next day with your skin feel hydrated and smooth!

Highlighter.

Lastly, highlighter plays an important role on completing your final makeup look. Using this product can create your soft summer glow, and allows you to put emphasis on ideal areas that naturally catch the light.

Applying highlighter to your cheekbones, the tip of your nose or even your across your chest! Will allow you to accentuate key areas and leave you feeling like a glowing and glittery goddess. And remember, you can never have too much highlighter!

How to Successfully Sell Beauty Products Online

12/11/2018

Beauty is a booming industry and this is probably because of people’s desire to enhance their looks. Every person has different goals when it comes to beauty whether it be improving their skin, being able to grow longer hair, or getting rid of unwanted marks. For this reason, starting a business in the beauty industry will always potentially be a lucrative idea. If you feel you have the right knowledge about beauty products and can meet the growing demand, then why not go into selling specific products?
Here’s how to successfully sell beauty products online.
Know Your Audience

Although it can be a good idea to sell beauty products, knowing who you’re selling them to is crucial. Bear in mind that everyone has different needs when it comes to beauty, so there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. Choose specific problems you want to solve whether it be bags under the eyes, dull skin, or helping complete an everyday makeup look. Doing so could help your marketing feel more authentic and not just like you’re selling a dream.

Tip: Start small by targeting one area of the market. Once you have created a name for yourself, there is an opportunity to move into another area. Take Glossier, for instance. They have limited beauty products, but they are slowly expanding. Glossier also have a popular fanbase.
Choose the Right Products

Carrying on from the topic of knowing your audience, once you do, it will help you choose the right products. Do more than enough research so that you know what kind of products your audience is looking for as well as the best ones to sell.

Also, the products you sell may have certain procedures you have to follow before you sell, so find that out too. For instance, if you want to sell cosmetics and soaps, you might need to check the inventory to make sure the chemical ingredients are listed in the Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances before selling.
Build a Clean Website

You need a platform to sell your beauty products on, especially when you’re doing so online. On that note, focus on ecommerce platforms that enable you to sell both online and via social media. The right platform should be easy to set up and save you the stress of hiring a web designer.

Also, note that you want to sell your products in as many places as possible if you want to make enough profit.
Include Good Product Descriptions

Your product descriptions will have a significant impact on how your products sell. Make sure you talk about them in enough detail but also in a way that’s appealing. Use the right tone and language to both appeal to your audience, prompt action and adequately describe the product.
Devise a Killer Marketing Plan

Your marketing plan is what will determine whether or not your business selling beauty products online goes as far as it could. Sit down and write your objectives as well as how you intend on achieving them. To create a marketing plan that will work, make sure your objectives are SMART. You can also do a situation analysis and decide what strategies or approaches you will use to meet your objectives. A SWOT analysis can help put everything into perspective so you know the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats involved.

Selling products online doesn’t have to be a difficult venture to start. You may need to develop a few core skills to help you get things moving a lot quicker. However, if you have the right products and good marketing skills, you should be fine.

5 Natural Ways to Make Your Skin Glow!

9/17/2018

Guest post by Manju Grg Mangolift.

Despite how common skincare products are nowadays, taking care of your skin through these products can both time consuming and costly. But no need to worry, because there are other ways to obtain the glowing skin of your dreams, these include making use of natural ingredients, following a specific diet, having a healthy sleeping schedule and more. So, if you’re wondering about the idea of getting a glowing skin at home without the need for products, then look no further than this article!

The Importance of Sleep

To obtain the glowing, young-looking, soft feet and hands, simply apply some moisturizing cream then cover them in some thin gloves and socks when you’re about to go to sleep.

Another trick is making sure that your humidifier is running every night in winter time, it’ll help moisturize the air in the bedroom, thus dealing with any dry and itchy skin that you have, and enabling you to breathe more freely while asleep.

If you want to eliminate disturbances or insomnia caused by ambient light, hang some room-darkening shades around your bedroom for maximum sleep. Sleep alone is very crucial to your skin’s health because most of the skin cells repair and regeneration happen when you’re asleep, in other words, if you don’t get enough rest, your skin will not heal properly.
Showering Correctly

If you’re someone who’s into long and steamy showers, then try to replace them with shorter, cooler ones. Why? You may ask, well, because long hot showers dry your skin and eliminate most protective oils which are never a good thing. That’s why most dermatologists, all around the globe, recommend under 10 minutes long showers with somewhat cool water.

Moreover, make sure to use a loofah on a daily basis to keep dry, scaly skin and ingrown hairs at bay. When showering, put a few drops of an alpha-hydroxy product on the loofah and scrub flaky skin spots in a circular motion to get rid of any dead cells and obtain a moisturized and smooth skin.

Also, switch from a deodorant soap to an added-fat soap as soon as possible, some of your options include Oilatum, Neutrogena, and Dove. This is due to the fact that soaps with added fat leave a highly beneficial, oily, film on your skin after using them, unlike deodorant ones.

Finally, the following are some bath add-ins that you can use to deal with itchy and dry skin:

  • Add two cups of Epsom salt to your bath, or simply rub some of it on the areas containing rough skin to exfoliate it (while your skin is still wet).

  • Throw in a few bags of tea, it not only acts as an antioxidant, but it results in a somewhat delicious smell as well.

  • A cup of uncooked oatmeal tied into a muslin bag. According to many dermatologists, Oats not only beneficiary when consumed but also when applied to your skin.

  • Add a mixture of wheat germ, apple cider vinegar, and sesame oil. The apple cider vinegar is highly antibacterial, and it helps balance the amount of acid in your skin, while the other two (wheat germ and sesame oil) help moisturize the skin.

  • Soak yourself in a hot bath contained half a pound of sea salt and one pound of baking soda until the water cools, this helps to soothe the itching spots and detoxifies your skin rather quickly.

  • Add one cup of powdered milk mixed with one tablespoon of grapeseed oil. This combination, with the exfoliating properties of the milk's lactic acid and the potent dose of antioxidants coming from the grapeseed oil, will make your skin healthy and glowing.
Choose Your Drinks Wisely

For starters, you can drink your tea instead of throwing it as an add-on in your bath (duh.). As mentioned above, tea provides you with vast amounts of antioxidants (molecules that fight the damage caused by smoking and sun exposure).

A study done in the state of Arizona found that people who drank more tea than others (especially tea with lemon) have way lower chances of developing cell skin cancer.

If drinking is your thing, however, then make sure to consume no more than a glass of wine or a single alcoholic drink naturally because overdrinking will enlarge the blood vessels near the surface of your facial skin causing problems to appear.
Be Ready Before Going Outside

If you’re about to go out in a sunny day, then try to avoid using perfumes and scented lotions for the sole reason that once scented products meet the sun, they can lead to blotchy skin spots.

Although this may sound wrong for many, make sure to sweat by cycling, jogging, working out in general. Because sweat is nature's answer to all the different toxic chemicals that build up in your skin. Additionally, exercising maintains a consistent blood flow throughout your body, your skin included.

Anyway, if you're exercising outside on a hot day, make sure to wear some sunscreen to protect you from all the UAV rays that come off the sun. In case you want the extra protection, apply a cream that contains high amounts of vitamin C, vitamin E, or beta-carotene, due to their multiple properties that help prevent skin dehydration & wrinkles (vitamin E) and provide a sunblock (vitamin C).
Keep It Moist

First, keep in mind that your skin needs more moisture in winter time more than any other season, so if you happen to have started wearing your sweaters, make sure to buy a heavier moisturizer alongside them. And if it's summer, and you're using shorts instead of sweaters, then switch to a lighter moisturizer.

Second, carefully select your moisturizers, make sure to buy ones that contain skin repairing humectants, these include: glycerin, urea, propylene glycol, etc. Also seek skin products that contain AHAs, short for alpha-hydroxy acids, these acids are usually found in grapes, apples, sour milk, and more. They help reduce wrinkles and help with acne, age spots and such.

A quick note for men: Skin-preserving products, although commonly used by women, can be used by men too, that’s why I recommend using your wife or sister’s skin care product to eliminate wrinkles and the chance of getting skin cancer and such.

Being a lover of all things Japanese, especially their beauty products, I was very excited to be able to test out this gold infused cleansing bar by Japanese brand Sassou.   This luxurious and unique anti-ageing beauty bar is actually imbued with Japanese sourced 24K gold.     Ancient civilizations considered gold to have medicinal properties and used it often to treat skin conditions.  Combined with antioxidant rich flower and algae extracts and honey, it balances sebum production, refines pores and enhances skin elasticity by stimulating collagen production.
There is something which is just so quaint and unique about Japanese beauty products, even the packaging, it arrives encased in this little sphere and the soap is wrapped in brown silk ribbon.   All of these little details adds that special touch to using this delightful gold bar.

Even the way the cleansing bar is applied is so very quaint.   It comes with a little white silk bag, you place the soap in the bag and rub it vigorously against the palm of your hand, you then use the delicate lather with water on your face.

The gold imbued into the bar helps to whiten and detox skin and increase collagen production, which is so important as we age, we want to maintain collagen in our skin.   The Amica Montana flower extract reduces inflammation and it is particularly helpful for acne and skin disorders.  Lamium album flower extract soothes skin.   Honey repairs skin damage, rejuvenates and hydrates.  It also contains white nettle, which I also drink as a tea, because of the many skin repairing benefits.

After using this soap my skin feels extra smooth, soft, clean.   It seems to take the ruddiness out of my skin and helps to keep it looking quite radiant.

If you want to pamper yourself in the bath and shower every day, I can recommended using this little item of luxury, why not make yourself feel like a princess or prince every day!    It smells and feels delicate, it lathers up amazingly frothy and it only contains natural ingredients.

Japanese women have beautiful skin and I can see why, this may be one of their beauty secrets we are only now discovering for ourselves.

Available at Sassou.

Safety Guidelines

Essential oils are very highly concentrated and potent and it is important to always check the specific safety data provided. Keep out of reach of children, the elderly, and pets.

Some oils may cause skin irritation in people with sensitive skin. It is recommended to perform a patch test before use. To patch test, place one drop on the back of your wrist and leave for an hour or more. If irritation or redness occurs wash the area with olive oil then cold water and do not use the oil.
