Many dogs develop irritation and allergies to the chemicals in store bought shampoos.

The oils used in the following shampoo will help keep your pets coat shiny, at the same time repelling fleas and bugs.

Not all essential oils are safe to use on your pet, but the carefully selected oils in this recipe are safe to use, just be sure to take special care to keep out of your doggies eyes.

Make sure you use high quality essential oils.  The oils used in this recipe are Ameo Clinical Grade Essential Oils, which is what I use.

The following recipe is one in a series of practical Améo Essential Oil uses from healthy lifestyle expert Karen A. Jensen

Ameo Dog Shampoo

What You’ll Need:
12 ounces water
1 tablespoon castile soap
2 drops Ameo Rosemary Essential Oil
2 drops Ameo Eucalyptus Radiata Essential Oil
2 drops Ameo Peppermint Essential Oil
2 drops Ameo True Lavender Essential Oil
1 glass bottle or jar

Instructions:
1. Combine all ingredients and shake well
2. Apply to wet fur, lather, and rinse.

Safety Guidelines

Essential oils are very highly concentrated and potent and it is important to always check the specific safety data provided. Keep out of reach of children, the elderly, and pets.

Some oils may cause skin irritation in people with sensitive skin. It is recommended to perform a patch test before use. To patch test, place one drop on the back of your wrist and leave for an hour or more. If irritation or redness occurs wash the area with olive oil then cold water and do not use the oil.
