Frank + Bare Natural AHA Deodorant - review

​This deodorant by Frank + Bare ticks all of my boxes and is the best natural deodorant I have tried over my many years of trialing organic and natural products.

Frank + Bare all Natural AHA Deodorants are an Australian company handcrafted in small batches on the NSW mid north coast, founded by their creator Joy, who set out to create a natural and effective deodorant which not only works all day, but is a pleasure to wear and has added skincare benefits to the delicate underarm area.  Using her pharmaceutical skills, Joy has created the perfect science based formulation combined with using all natural and safe ingredients which are sustainable, environmentally friendly and the most important factor, not tested on animals and vegan friendly.  

Frank + Bare have won multiple awards including the Non-Toxic award for sensitive deodorant and the Clean + Conscious award for zero-waste packaging and winner of best natural deodorant in The Best of Beauty Awards 2022 - Prevention magazine.

The big difference with this deodorant and the reason it's so much more effective than other natural deodorants is that the formulation contains 5 AHA's (Alpha Hydroxy Acids), this is the active ingredient which keeps the deodorant working so effectively througout the entire day.   These AHA's, Glycolic, Lactic, Malic, Tartaric & Citric Acid are derived from all natural sources including Bilberry, Orange, Lemon, Sugar Cane & Sugar Maple Extracts.  The AHA's control odour and the odour causing bacteria can't survive.  On top of this it helps with ingrown hairs, hyperpigmentation and keeping skin hydrated.     

Another big difference with Frank + Bare and a major plus, is that it doesn't contain baking soda, which I have discovered is the the culprit of staining some of my favourite clothes when I have worn other natural deodorants on the market.  Frank + Bare have perfected the PH balance without the need for baking soda.   

​Scent is always a huge factor for me and this deodorant is the most divine naturally scented deodorant I have tried.  Oakmoss and Myrrh is the deodorant I have been wearing, as I usually gravitate towards the more woodsy and warm scents.    Even though this is usally a masculine scent, I love the slightly spicy and forest clean fresh smell.    It also contains the warming scents of musk and amber. I love it so much I even rub a bit on my wrists and wear it as a perfume.  Only pure essential oils are used and no irritating toxic fragrances.
   

Oakmoss is a very deep, earthy aroma which helps to make me feel relaxed and grounded, the spirit of the forest.  Myrrh is a mystical soothing aroma.      

There are also many other scents to choose from if you prefer lighter or more floral or fruity based scents including tropical (coconut and lime), (frangipani), exotic (ylang ylang and grapefruit), fresh (spearmint) and magnolia and black pepper.  There is also an unscented version.     

This deodorant not only helps me to feel calm at the beginning of the day, but it also last all day long. I live in very humid heat, I wear it to work, which is something I am conscious about it in the workplace, smelling nice and not smelling sweaty all day long!   I only need to apply it once in the morning and I smell clean and fresh all day, without the wetness typically experienced from other deodorants.     I've worn it out to rock concerts, exercising, going for walks along the beach.    I've really tested this one out thoroughly over many months.         
 
It does not contain parabens, aluminium, sulphates or any other nasties, as these ingredients are very toxic to health and have been linked to breast cancer.      

I love the application stick, it's a cardboard push-up tube made out of fully recycable materials, even using soy ink for printing and with every purchase $1 is donated to an Australian Environmental initiative.    

Application is smooth and consistency is like velvet,  some of the key ingredients being coconut oil and shea butter.  I am sure you will love this deodorant as much as I do.
