Kelapa Organics Baby Products - Review

3/19/2016

Recently I've had the opportunity to try Kelapa Organics Baby products and found them to be of an extremely high quality, a luxurious and effective treat you can give your baby, at the same time knowing that they are completely safe for babies skin.

From the very beginning of a baby's life we should be using organic products.
Babies have such sensitive and delicate skin, it’s very important to use skin care products which soothe babies skin, rather than use products which contain toxic chemicals which can irritate, especially babies prone to excema and skin rash problems.

Some ingredients, such as sulphates and parabens in mainstream baby products, can cause breathing issues and even enter into babies bloodstream and affect  reproductive organs.

Luckily we are living in a time where people are becoming aware of this and we have the opportunity to treat babies with the gentle and safe care they deserve.

One of the major ingredients in the Kelapa baby range is certified organic coconut oil.   I'm also a big fan of the Kelapa range for adults and I have found that the high quality of the coconut oil has made a huge difference to the nourishing treatment to our skin.

Baby Shampoo and Body Wash

My little nephew and I have been testing the shampoo and body wash over the last couple of months, trying to get a really good feel of the product.  I have found this wash to be beautifully soft and gentle on his delicate and sensitive skin.

The anti-bacterial and anti-fungal qualities of the organic coconut oil has helped to  keep his skin moisturised while protecting from further irritation. There has been no hint of excema or any redness.

As  a shampoo it is very gentle and leaves his hair feeling soft, fresh and clean.   It's so gentle it doesn't sting his eyes, but it thourougly cleanses.   The soft and gentle scent of mild lavender is calming and perfect for babies bed time, I also love the two in one factor of a body wash and shampoo.

Baby Lotion

Made for babies, kids and even adults with sensitive skin, this lotion can be used all over body and face. It sinks in quickly and is very light and moisturising. The lotion spreads evenly and is soothing and nourishing. It's so creamy and nice, with a soft baby smell, but all natural.  Incredibly soothing for my nephews sensitive skin and I love using it myself, I found it very good for after sun care and soothing sun kissed skin.

With the nourishing properties of organic coconut oil and sweet almond oil, it's perfect for healing dry patches of babies skin. You can use this daily with the confidence that this is safe and moisturising for your baby.

With the essential oils of lavender and bitter orange, the lotion has a calming effect on all of our minds at the end if the day!

Kelapa, grown out of a passion to provide high quality skin care products, which are as gentle and as close to nature as possible is made and owned in Melbourne,  Australia.  All products are free from Sulfates, Parabens, Artificial Preservatives, Synthetic Fragrances and Artificial Colours.

Bőr Organics eye cream - Review

One of the first areas we notice ageing is around our eyes, if we’ve had a late night, are overworked or stressed and tired, we start to develop under eye circles and bags under our eyes, even when we are in our 20’s.   If the skin around our eyes look tired, it can age us dramatically.

When using an eye cream you only want to use a natural and organic cream, this is very important for the delicate skin underneath our eyes.   There are so many  eye creams out there, it is hard to know where to start. What I always look at is the ingredients.   I like to research each ingredient and find out exactly how the product works.  As I am a big believer in the power of herbs, particularly for healing our skin, I was very happy to see the amazing list of ingredients in Bor Organics eye cream.

These are just a few of ingredients  -  Nettle Leaf extract: known to be very healing for the inflammation of skin and an anti-inflammatory, lemon myrtle: tightens skin, bladderwrack: filled with minerals to nourish skin, burdock root: contains PABA, great for maintaining firmness of skin, ginger: contains around 40 antioxidant properties that prevent free radical damage and protects against ageing, ginseng: has the ability to boost skin-firming collagen.

Putting the cream to the test -

On first application I found the cream to be of a medium texture and fast absorbing.  Very good for sensitive skin, doesn’t sting (even if i accidentally get it into my eyes!)

Being of fair skin and also a lover of sun, I am noticing lately the light sun spots under my eyes.   I thought this would be a good test to see if it helped to lighten them. I’ve been using the cream morning and night and I noticed a definite lightening of the spots, maybe this is due to the lemon myrtle ingredient.

It decreases the effects of fine lines, my eye area feels far less dry and tired and definitely less puffy after I apply the cream, great for after a bad nights sleep or after staying up too late indulging!

A tiny amount amount goes a long way with this cream, so it's going to last for ages.

Because of the great consistency I can apply make-up straight after.    I really like the packaging, it comes in a tube and has a cool retro feel to it.

Bőr Organics  is made up of certified organic, natural and pure ingredients, with an amazing array of herbal plants and minerals.

This is a full list of the eye cream ingredients -

Don't Wait: Start Now to Get Your Summer Body!

3/1/2016

This post has been contributed by Laura.

Summer might seem like a long way away, but it always seems to creep up on us when we least expect it. The days are already getting lighter. There’s no better time to start getting your summer body than now! No need for fad diets or ridiculous amounts of exercise. If you start now, you can coast into summer and feel confident in your bikini. Here’s what to do!

Change Your Diet

Take a look at your diet and see if there is any way you can change it for the better. You should be filling your diet full of natural, whole foods to get the best summer body. Eating 200 calories of vegetables is so much better than eating 200 calories of chocolate, and you’ll feel fuller for longer. Learn how to use nutritional labels and opt for fresh food over prepackaged. Instead of drinking calorific drinks, opt for water and green tea too.

Find Ways to Get Active

Getting active is important if you want a summer body too. Even if it’s something like taking the stairs rather than the lift, it’ll all add up. Getting in some regular exercise about 3-4 times a week is a good idea. You could play a sport with a friend, swim, or lift weights. Whatever you do, make sure you enjoy it. Your exercise routine should be vary to make the most difference to your body. Make sure you’re not putting too much emphasis on cardio either. It might help you to lose weight, but it won’t shape your body the way you want it.

Start Taking the Right Supplements

Taking supplements is the third step you can take when going after that summer body. Providing you’ve got your diet right and you’re getting plenty of exercise, you can incorporate supplements to help you achieve your goals. Just don’t expect supplements to do all of the work for you. They’ll enhance your results, but they won’t be solely responsible for them. You can even look into nutritional cleansing with certain supplements to help aid your fat loss.

Allow Treats in Moderation

Now, cutting out treats completely would probably lead to bingeing. So you definitely shouldn’t do that. You should allow yourself one or two small cheat meals per week - emphasis on small! Don’t go OTT or eat until you feel so stuffed that you have to undo your jeans. Simply look forward to this meal at the end of a week when you’ve worked hard. It’ll keep you going and it’ll also give your metabolism a little kick too.

Monitor Your Progress Properly

To get an accurate idea of how you’re doing, you need to monitor your progress properly. You don’t want to just weigh yourself, as that’s inaccurate. Instead, measure yourself and take pictures too. This will keep you going when you think you aren’t making progress!

Rome wasn’t built in a day, so the key is to avoid rushing this process. The longer you give yourself, the less pressure you’ll feel. Then it’s a case of maintaining your results. You can’t just go back to how you were before!
