Aromababy - Review

Aromababy was the worlds first natural and organic baby skin care range, created 20 years ago!  Over the past few months I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to try a few of their products.

Australian made, all natural, certified organic skincare designed for babies and mums, or even if you’re not a mum, these products are so gentle on the skin, you might want to use them too, as I did.

Founder Catherine Cervasio has personally hand picked each ingredient, making sure that only the most gentle and safe ingredients are used.   Particularly good for babies with sensitive skin who are prone to eczema.

Select products contain pure, essential oils to soothe and calm whilst others for super-sensitive skin contain no essential oils, as suggested by some baby health experts.

The products which contain essential oils have a subtle natural scent, enough of a fragrance to feel nice, yet not overpowering. Some 'natural' products have a scent that is too strong and as soon as I open some I feel I wouldn't want to try it on my nephew's sensitive skin, but these products were different.

I love the gorgeous packaging with the cute little cherub baby and swan.  The products look nice displayed in the bathroom and the  packaging has a 'pure' feel about it.

A gentle and high quality range.

Picture
Pure Baby Moisture Cream is designed for newborns, but can also be used on toddlers and adults.    It doesn't contain essential oils or aroma.
Nice and non-greasy, no artificial fragrances, keeps skin moist in dry weather, good for excema, dry skin and sensitive skin.  It has a nice light texture and absorbs easily.
The gentle properties of sweet almond oil and pure rosehip oil help keep babies skin really smooth and keeps dry flaky skin at bay.

Picture
Baby Bath Gel is pure, gentle and sulphate free.  It contains the lovely calm essential oils of french lavender and german chamomile.

I poured this under  running tap water while the bath tub was filling to make a relaxing soak.

Can be used to wash babies hair as well.  Fragrance is very natural.   Works well on toddlers sensitive skin which is prone to eczema.

It left toddlers skin feeling very soft and never had a bad reaction using this.    You only need a small amount for baby to feel clean and fresh.

Barrier Balm contains natural oils to soothe delicate skin and prevents nappy rash.  With calendula, evening primrose, sweet almond oil and vitamin E. Can be used on dry skin, scalp and lips.

It contains the healing essential oils of Rose, Neroli German Chamomile and Roman Chamomile.   The aroma is beautiful and relaxing.

Easy to spread on baby’s bottom, it’s a clear balm, not a thick uncomfortable looking cream.

Can also be used as a healing balm and I tend to spread it on my fingers and cuticles at the same time to soften them up and protect them. Provides a light barrier.  Also moisturises.   It's contained in a convenient small jar which is the perfect size to fit in a nappy bag.

Picture
Aromabath powder is a very soothing and subtle bath powder made with organic lavender flowers, rose petals and essential oils.    It is milk free, which I really like, as I'm not keen on the idea of dry milk in baby bath products.   It contains oatmeal to soothe delicate skin and leave it feeling beautiful and soft.   I really like this powder, it’s very gentle on sensitive skin and seems to calm down and relieve itchy bites and stings.    Also nice for mum to use as a soothing foot soak followed with barrier balm on heels.  Comes in a very large jar, which means there is more for mum to pamper herself with or to have a bath with baby together.  It also comes with a muslin bag which you can place the powder in and let it soak in the bath and squeeze occasionally to slowly release the powder.

Mother and child massage oil was developed in consultation with members of various infant massage associations in Australia.  This gentle massage oil contains natural vitamin E, calendula, evening primrose oil and sweet almond oil. Can be used in the bath or rubbed gently on to babies skin.  Non-greasy, light and absorbs easily, helping to heal toddlers dry skin.   Mums can also use this to  soothe sore nipples and as an all over massage oil.   It also feels really nice to apply it to tops of hands regularly, this would be good for mums with dry hands.
A safe and effective massage oil during pregnancy.

Love System - Australian Bush Flower Essences -  soothing firming eye neck face gel - calm & clear - Review

Love System, which is one of my favourite unique organic skin care lines, was created by Paul Loveday, he spent 7 years developing these naturopathic inspired skin care formulations which contains the amazing properties of Australian bush flowers.

The energies contained in the flower remedies are designed to nurture and care for your skin and your inner self.

This treatment is a soothing and firming neck and face gel which contains beautiful healing ingredients.  One of the main ingredients is rose stem cells, which help skin repair and regenerate.   Research on rose stem cells have shown to have very promising results in anti-aging products.

I have searched for a long time to find an organic neck and face gel, as I love the feeling of a gel.  This is the only organic face gel I have found which has the ability to heal my skin and contains so many nourishing natural ingredients. It absorbs very rapidly and leaves my skin feeling replenished without leaving any oily residue.  This is different to using a moisturiser as I could feel a tightening effect on my face and neck after I applied it.  It sinks into my skin but doesn’t make it feel dry.

I am worried about ageing lines on my neck and chest, this is an area which I really try to keep hydrated at all times.  Being a lover of the beach I know I probably spend too much time in the sun, so I also used this as an after sun moisturiser.  I like the cooling sensation of a gel, so I place this in the fridge to make it feel even more nourishing to my skin. Try smoothing the cool gel onto your face and you will see what I mean!

I feel as though this gel moisturisers and tightens at the same time.   It helped to make my skin feel soft
and lines seemed smoother.

I used it all over my face, neck and chest.  The scent is natural, light and calming.   A very earthy and grounding scent.

Some of the other ingredients are the healing bush flower essences Black-eyed Susan, Boronia, Bottle Brush, Bush Fuchsia, Crowes, Jacaranda, Little Flannel Flower, Paw Paw and She Oak.

What I appreciate about the Love System is the products are created to treat your body, mind and health.   I can see that many years of research have gone into creating them using carefully chosen ingredients.

You can purchase this calming gel here.

Kelapa Organics - Review

Kelapa Organics are an Australian Owned Company who provide premium organic and natural skin care.

I say ‘premium’ because I have been lucky enough to try 3 of Kelapas products and found them to be of a very high quality.  They are Australian Certified Organic, do not contain any harsh chemicals and feel quite luxurious to use!

Picture
Kelapa Coconut and Vanilla Body Wash

This a gentle and uplifting body wash infused with some of my favourite ingredients.

Made with coconut oil and aloe vera juice, which makes it very nourishing to my skin, also combined with the calming scents of sandalwood, bitter orange extract and vanilla. The combination of these oils are wonderful for stress relief.   The scent is subdued, very natural and has a relaxing effect.

The texture is a gel which glides on softly and smoothly and cleanses my skin of  all impurities.   The natural properties of the essential oils also helps to prevent break outs.    I had clear skin the entire time I've been using this.  The gel works up to a nice lather and it seems to be lasting me for a very long time, so is economical as well.

Kelapa SPF 15 Face Moisturiser

I love using this face moisturiser.  I’ve been using it every morning, I apply it to my face just after showering and it’s proven itself to be a great base under my make-up.   Another big plus for me is the natural spf 15, which is so important in this harsh climate, even if you’re spending a tiny amount of time outdoors, it should always be part of your daily moisturiser. The spf 15 is made from zinc oxide.

The texture is non-greasy, has a natural light fragrance of Bitter Orange, Lavender, Sandalwood and Rosemary, another really effective aromatherapy combination for uplifting your spirits and keeping impurities at bay.

The coconut oil, aloe vera juice, rose hip extract and vitamin C help to keep my skin feeling soft and smoothing out wrinkles.  I always applied this to my chest area, as I want to keep my décolletage looking and feeling young!

Another favourite ingredient of mine is jojoba oil, which is well known for it's benefits in balancing the skin, it helps skin retain moisture and I love the texture of it.   The ingredients in this moisturiser give it the perfect consistency, not too heavy and not too light and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day.

Picture
Kelapa Organic Night Cream

A luxurious moisturiser.  This night cream has a velvety smooth texture and melts into my skin easily.

Filled with the benefits of bitter orange oil, which controls over active oils in the skin without stripping it of the natural oils that you need.    It’s a very good oil for balancing skin and  helping maintain a clear complexion.  Vanilla soothes and calms skin and lavender has powerful antioxidants.

Along with Aloe Vera juice, Coconut Oil and Vitamin E, I found this cream to be very nourishing, with a rich, lavish feel to it.   At the same time, not being too heavy for my combination skin.

Kelapa Organics are of a very high quality at an affordable price.  The packaging of the bottles and jars is a stylish white, silver and ocean blue.  A great range of organic products to add to your natural beauty routine. You can visit the Kelapa Organics store here.
