We all want to look our best at all times. We might not have paparazzi catching our every move as we head to the shops, walk our pets or make our way to an appointment like the stars do. But still. You never know who you might bump into when you leave the front door. But not all of us woke up like Beyonce. So how do you look flawless 24/7? Well, it’s all to do with preparation. Here’s how you can turn up like a princess and make it look natural and easy. Diet A huge part of hitting societal standards of beauty is having clear skin. But how do you get clear skin? Well, it’s partially down to genes and hormones, but your skin is also greatly affected by your diet. Just remember to always drink eight glasses of water a day. This will keep you hydrated and your skin is glowing. Dark chocolate, yoghurt, pomegranate seeds, walnuts, peppers sunflower seeds and kidney beans are all great for your skin. Make sure you eat at least a little of some of these foods every week. Exercise This will give you a healthy glow. You sweat out toxins and your general health will improve. This will show in how you look. Sleep Not many people would describe dark circles as a thing to aim for. Make sure you get your eight hours of beauty sleep every night. Get yourself into a good sleep-wake routine and your bags will lighten and grow less noticeable in no time. Skin Routine
Have a good routine when it comes to cleansing your skin. Exfoliate once a week at least with an exfoliator especially formulated for your face - you don’t want to be too rough with it. This will remove dead and flakey skin and keep your complexion glowing. Wash well with a soap or face wash that suits you. Organic and natural formulas are best. Use your hands or a damp muslin cloth. Pat dry with a towel and moisturise. Do this when you wake in the morning and before you sleep at night. Makeup Makeup isn’t necessary. If you feel happy and confident without it, then don’t feel like you have to make yourself up before you go out. But equally, if you enjoy using makeup and like the way that it makes you look then load it up. Never let anyone tell you what you should and shouldn’t do when it comes to makeup application. Just remember to always wash it off before you go to sleep. Use cruelty-free brands, and when it comes to foundation, it’s better to invest in a brand that will allow your skin to breath and apply smoothly than a cheaper brand. If a special occasion is coming up, why not treat yourself and hire a mobile makeup artist. These professionals will come to you and get your makeup on point in your home. What’s not to love? They’re ideal for weddings, birthdays and Christmas events. Do you find that your skin is particularly irritable or sensitive? Check out our reviews of some organic and natural products that might answer your beauty prayers. This post has been contributed by Laura. Raw Kaya Organics offers a stunning collection of natural and organic skincare products made in Australia. I was blown away by the high quality of these products. Inspired by nature, using plant based ingredients, the founders of Raw Kaya Organics, Ebony and Trent, have a strong ethical background, committed to helping the environment. Raw Kaya Organics performs like a very expensive organic skin care line which you would find at a fancy organic day spa, but the great thing is their products are very affordable. I love everything about this collection. The look, the feel and the scent! The range I am using contains some very important natural ingredients, one of which I want to highlight first- MSM (methyl-sulfonyl-methane) is a nutrient contained in superfoods. It’s actually one of the best ingredients to look for in natural skincare, as it retains elasticity by penetrating deeply into layers of the skin. It also helps other ingredients in moisturisers do their magic and work together to create smoother skin. It helps to heal problems such as psoriasis, excema and acne. It is a powerful natural anti-inflamatory. MSM also gives a brightening effect to the skin as it softens cells. It forms part of Keratin and Collagen. Definitely an ingredient you want in your natural skincare. Rose and Cinnamon Cream Face Cleanser I love all things cinnamon, so I was pretty excited about testing this one out. It’s a very smooth, creamy cleanser which feels soft and luxurious. Other than smelling like a dream, what role does cinnamon have in skin care? It smoothes out blood vessels and plumps out fine lines. This is why you’ll find cinnamon in some brands of lip plumping lip glosses, it’s a natural way of helping your skin to look and feel younger. There is an increase in collagen protein when cinnamon is used on the skin. It contains nourishing organic ingredients including white oak bark, calendula flower and honeysuckle, as well as apricot kernel and avocado oil to hydrate and tone. I like to take my time using this in the shower, as I don't want the experience to end! It cleansed gently and effectively. Coffee and Lychee Seed Face Scrub (with MSM) Made with Byron Bay coffee, this scrub smells so delicious and yummy. It’s hard to describe exactly how much I love using this, but I’ll try to do it justice. The scent is heavenly, it smells like freshly ground and brewed organic coffee combined with a delicate sweet scent of lychee. This natural fragrance just lifts me up as soon as I smell it. The texture is soft, almost like a gel, with beautiful little crushed lychee seeds to remove dry skin, but as the consistency is similar to a gel, it’s not harsh or abrasive, just a perfect combination to exfoliate my face gently. Coffee enhances energy to the skin and promotes circulation, so it helps with skin cell energy. With the powerhouse ingredient of MSM, this exfoliator helps to maintain a radiant complexion. Rose and Cinnamon Face Toner (with MSM) A spritz of this toner after cleansing and exfoliating feels so cooling and relaxing. One of my favourite herbs is contained in this toner and that herb is thyme, it has powerful healing affects as it is a natural anti-inflammatory. Thyme is also high in antioxidants and helps protect skin. Rose oil is another powerful anti-inflammatory agent and tissue regenerator, it has astringent effects on the capillaries and has a relaxing and calming effect on the mind. This is very high quality rose oil, the type of scent you’d find in a morrocan rose garden, it’s beautiful. Combined with cooling and refreshing cucumber, witch hazel and an array of skin protective ingredients, this toner is a herbal dream. Rose and Cinnamon Face Moisturiser (with MSM) A velvety, luscious creamy cleanser packed with some amazing ingredients, one of these ingredients is moth bean extract. Moth bean extract is known as a natural retinol. It's a climbing bean botanical native to India and Pakistan. Moth Bean Extract helps stimulate cell renewal and collagen, which decreases wrinkles. It provides stability in skin care formulations without the side effects of synthetic chemical retinoids. You may remember the days when people used chemical Retin-A, the extremely harsh product used to treat scars and wrinkles, but with a lot of bad side effects. Moth bean extract has been reported to work just as well as the chemical products but with no side effects. Along with nourishing cacao butter, healing Aloe and chamomile and the nutrients of rosemary extract to protect skin. This moisturiser adds the final finishing touch to a delicate, but effective beauty routine. All of the Raw Kaya Organic products are natural, organic and completely free of chemicals. Suitable for sensitive skin. The beautiful natural packaging is made from bamboo. Check out their blog on the creative ways on how to recycle the bottles! Raw Kaya Organics purpose is to make a difference through environmental and wildlife conservation around the globe, they know that nature knows best and this shows in their products. Good news! The FDA has banned more than a dozen dangerous chemicals contained in antibacterials soaps.
