By: Santanu Majumdar Rosacea is a common skin condition that a lot of people face. The condition is generally characterized by redness. If you are experiencing rosacea, it is extremely vital to maintain a gentle routine for your skin care. You also need to be aware of the cosmetics and skin care products that could irritate your skin. It is advisable to consult with a dermatologist about your skin care routine. You can also discuss the ingredients present in the products that you use. If you apply makeup properly, you can actually fake good and naturally looking skin, meanwhile concealing the redness caused by the condition. Patting on Moisturizer When you hydrate your skin, the outer layers of your skin are plumped up, which creates an even surface. This is important for applying makeup in a smooth manner. There is a difference between a regular person applying makeup and a professional makeup artist doing the same. The foundation application done by the makeup artists are always smoother, even if they use the same makeup and tools as you. One thing that you would tend to do with makeup application is try and rush through you skin preparation. As such, you tend to smear the moisturizer onto your face and let it do the job for you. However, you should not do that. You should try to dot the moisturizer to your face deliberately so that it is evenly applied. Then, you can pat the product to your skin with the help of your fingertips. You need to be a little more attentive with problematic areas like under the eyes or around your nose. This method of applying moisturizer doesn’t necessarily have to be slow. Once you get used to it, you can pat on your moisturizer adding less than a minute to your makeup routine. You will find out that this added minute is certainly worth it. Rather than simply spreading your moisturizer, patting it on makes blending the foundation easier without streaks. Also, the skin is prepped up more evenly for the best makeup for rosacea and the final result is also more natural looking. Never Skip Your Primer After you pat on your moisturizer for prepping your skin, you must never forget your primer. You should try to use a product that is silicon based. This is because it creates a light layer over skin pores or skin texture problems. Thus, it blurs and smoothens the problematic areas. Only a small amount is needed. You can apply it to the problematic areas of your skin using your fingertip. Color Correction When you have rosacea, you have got to color correct using the correct formula. Instead of using a thick layer of concealer or foundation to cover up your redness, you should try using a light layer of color corrector; it cancels out much of the redness. Then, you can move on to applying a significantly lighter layer of foundation over corrector. This way, it will look a lot more natural. You can find different color correctors in the market with various formulations. Generally, products that are lighter in weight should cover larger areas. Spreading a thick color corrector over larger areas of your skin is more difficult. So, you should be looking for a product that comes in the form of a lotion or a light liquid that can be spread gently over the problematic area. Correct Problematic Areas Only You should always try not to cover your entire face with a color corrector, even if the redness from the rosacea is extensive. The tint does cancel out the skin redness, which means if it is applied all over the face, there will be no redness left and your face will have a greenish look. You certainly wouldn’t want that. When you are using a corrector, it can be a little weird if a green corrector is used over a widespread area. This is why you should rather try using a color corrector that is yellow tinted. Yellow also does the job of cancelling out the redness, but it certainly doesn’t leave an unnatural look to your skin. Use Skin Toned Makeup for Covering the Corrector When you use a small amount of color corrector on your skin and the redness disappears almost immediately, it can be very tempting to leave it just like that. However, there are chances that under different light, the corrector might not be as invisible. This is why you should apply a light layer of concealer or foundation over the corrector. You can blend it with the surrounding skin with the help of a makeup sponge or a brush. Even after the skin toned makeup, if some discoloration remains, you should never resort to adding another layer of corrector. When you switch between two products like that, it results in a very unnatural finish. Instead, you should use concealer on only the problematic spot. Blush As far as makeup for rosacea is concerned, you are doing so to cover up the redness of your skin. As such, the last thing you’d want is too much of pink blush. It does nothing but highlight whatever redness that remains on your skin after the makeup. You may consider skipping the blush completely, but choosing bare cheeks might also be a mistake. When you skip blush, the skin imperfections that haven't been covered perfectly looks more like a feature. So, you should choose to apply blush very lightly, just as a distraction from the trouble spots. Use a Good Lip Color for Distracting Whether you are using a lipstick, lip gloss or lip stain, you should always opt for a color. With darker lip color, the face of those having rosacea looks much better. Peach, bright pink or perhaps a red lip color adds a great color to your face, meanwhile also distracting the eye from your skin. So, after applying the makeup, even if you have some areas that aren’t completely covered, using the right lip color can do the job for you.

Rosacea is a skin condition that can be embarrassing at times. It involves reddening of the skin around the face. This can be aggravated by extreme temperatures, spicy foods and sunbathing. These things are only believed to make the condition worse. The actual cause of the problem however, is not known and it is believed to be hereditary. However, it is possible to treat the rosacea condition in a number of ways. It is important that when you think you have the rosacea condition, you visit your doctor early so that you can discuss on a plan to control the condition. Do not wait until when your skin turns red and your confidence is affected by the condition. Here are some ways that can help you deal with the problem. Other major causes of rosacea are use of skin brighteners that have chemical that react with the skin.
Mild Rosacea This is a subtype of rosacea that is characterized by visible blood vessels, flushes and facial redness. This is a very advanced stage of rosacea and is difficult to treat. At this stage, one is advised to keep off foods and other factors that aggravate the condition. Such factors include spices and temperature changes. Apart from avoiding these factors, there are other ways that can be used to contain the condition. A personal doctor who understands your health issues is the right person to discuss with on a possible plan to treat mild rosacea. One way through which the condition can be controlled is by the use of the estrogen hormone to treat hot flashes. Patients with the condition can be given the hormone to counter the hot flashes caused by rosacea. This is a very delicate procedure and major decisions have to be made depending on the patient’s health history. Another issue of concern is that the hormone is used to treat hot flashes that mainly occur during menopause and not rosacea flashes. It is therefore just used as a remedy because of the nature of likeness between the two flashes. The major concern about using the estrogen hormone is that the therapy poses great threats of heart diseases, stroke and breast cancer. Apart from the use of hormone estrogen, beta blockers have been recommended for treating rosacea flushes and visibility of blood vessels. The use of these blocks to treat rosacea has not been tested and approved by the relevant bodies in America. Beta blockers have been used in the past as treatment for menopausal flashes, heart diseases and high blood pressure. Moderate Rosacea This subtype of rosacea is characterized by facial redness and pimples on the face. There are oral medications and tropical treatments that can be used to reduce inflammation and break outs. Most of the medication used to treat rosacea can be used to fight inflammation and prevent redness of the face but cannot be used to kill bacteria. Severe Rosacea This is the serious type of rosacea. The main symptoms include skin thickening and enlargement mostly affecting the areas around the nose. This type requires special care. Its treatment includes the use of oral and tropical medications combined with laser therapy. However, laser therapy is referred to as the best remedy for this type of rosacea. YAG and carbon dioxide lasers are the common types of lasers used for the treatment of severe rosacea. In some cases where laser therapy does not help much, the patient may have to go through surgery to remove the extra tissue. This case is worse and requires attention at early stages because the overgrowth of tissue around the nose may cause other life threatening complications like difficulty in breathing or collapsing of the nostrils. Most of the severe cases of rosacea may lead to lose in self-esteem which is a very serious issue. Patients are therefore advised to seek professional help in such cases. Conclusion
Most of the treatment for rosacea are just remedy to help the patient deal with the condition. In fact most of them are treatments used for other conditions that have similar traits as rosacea. Some of them have not been tested and allowed for use in treatment of rosacea by the relevant food and drugs regulatory bodies. However, the time taken to treat rosacea will depend on individuals and the type of condition. This foundation is an all in one concealer, sunscreen, foundation and powder, which means you can use it on it’s own and it will work fabulously, you really don’t need to use anything else with it, but as the BB cream also contains a primer and moisturiser, I use this first followed by the Mineral Foundation. This Mineral Foundation is 100 percent natural and certified organic, cruelty free and proudly Australian made. Completely free from all of the nasty chemicals such as parabens, petrochemicals and synthetics. The fact that this foundation is anti-ageing is a big added plus for me, as not that many loose organic powders are. It contains anti-ageing minerals and the anti-oxidant properties of certified organic rose-hip oil and vitamin C. It’s a good idea to start using anti-ageing products at any age, not just when you hit your 40’s and start noticing wrinkles! Prevention is the best medicine when it comes to skin care. When applying I only used a light dusting and this set my make-up for the entire working day, no touch up’s needed. The staying power is extremely long lasting, it will last all day long. La mav have done their research when it comes to performance and knowing what people need in their skincare products. I find this powder to be very nourishing for my skin, at the same time as making my skin feel perfectly made up by hiding my imperfections, without making me feel as though I’m wearing a tonne of make-up. It adds a slightly glowing and soft shimmer look to my skin without making it look shiny. As someone who can be prone to the occasional breakout, this also kept my skin clear and pimple free and hides any redness. This would also work well for those who suffer from Rosacea. It comes in 4 different shades, I used the light/medium shade and this was perfect for my fair, but slightly tanned skin. It also contains a natural SPF 15 sunscreen and is water resistant, even on hot, sweaty days it will stay on your face! The powder is very economical and you’re getting top quality at an affordable price. I highly recommend both the La Mav BB Cream and Mineral Foundation powder as a healthy way to keep your skin looking and feeling great, I don’t think anyone will be disappointed after trying them. Before this I was using a liquid foundation and pressed powder, but now I've been converted. Previously I've found other loose powders looked too thick, but this glides on smoothly and evens out to a very natural looking skin tone. She is so beautiful” but here is where you are wrong-as a lot of Rosacea sufferers would not verify all that 24 hours redness as being pretty. There are many symptoms of this non-curable chronic disorder but one of the initial symptoms is flushing that is basically the reddening of the facial areas. However it is said to affect one out of ten people, it’s mostly those with fairer skin tones that are predisposed to this humiliating condition. The redness can reason the small blood vessels to expand, becoming more noticeable, whereas other annoying symptoms can comprise burning feelings, spots and even skin congealing -with more serious cases. Unlucky sufferers get sick and tired with their Rosacea mistakenly taken for blushing, suntan, spots, rashes and even intoxication. Although Rosacea can’t be cured there are many Rosacea Treatments, which are quite effective ROSACEA SYMPTOMS Before we discuss the Rosacea Treatment, let’s throw some light on its symptoms, so that you get a clear idea about the signs of Rosacea condition. Rosacea is sometimes also called Acne Rosacea as it looks similar to acne. Still, it is an unalike condition to acne. Symptoms of Rosacea consist of one or other of the following: 1. FREQUENT FLUSHING -of the facial areas, akin to blushing. This is frequently the first symptom and may perhaps be the only sign for months or years before anything else cultivates. 2. REDNESS- (Erythema) in different parts of the face. This can look like suntan. 3. SMALL LUMPY RED SPOTS- these spots appear on the face. The spots and cysts look just like acne. These may possibly come and go in some circumstances but, in others, they remain for a longtime if not treated. 4. EYE SYMPTOMS-(also called Ocular Rosacea) take place in about half of cases, but are frequently slight. 5. THICKENING OF THE SKIN happens in some cases. The most well-known illustration of this is called a “Rhinophyma” which is a swollen, bumpy nose. This is rare. WHAT ARE THE COMMON ROSACEA TREATMENTS? It’s very disappointing- but there is no permanent cure for Rosacea. There is simply nothing that you can do to avert Rosacea from starting. Nonetheless, Rosacea treatments can give relief to the symptoms. The Rosacea treatments used may differ, depending on what indications develop. Rosacea treatment may need to be attuned over time depending on your reaction to the treatments, and if you have some diverse symptoms. Applied topically, lavender comforts redness and contracts facial blood vessels. 3. Green tea -comprises lots of influential antioxidants and therefore is best for Rosacea treatment. It is also recognized to show anti-inflammatory properties. This treatment is especially useful if the rosacea is instigated from sun irritation and with regular intake it lessens the skin’s sensitivity to daylight. 4. Grape seed extract- displays characteristics of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, and consequently assists in collagen formation. Collagen development on skin benefits in Rosacea treatment and most other kinds of skin maladies too. 5. Apple cider vinegar- is a useful and very well-known natural Rosacea treatment. It produces digestive enzymes which can effectively decrease the quantity of bacteria in the digestive tract of the body. Rosacea Treatment not only involves the things that you dab on your face and antibiotics you take. You must also take into thought the food that you consume.
